Congratulations, man! Our daughter just started crawling today. She was 9lbs., 5oz., and my wife pushed for 3 1/2 hours. So assuming everything's ok, smaller might not be so bad. ;-)

This morning at 5:46am my step-daughter April gave birth to a beautiful baby girl. The baby is a little on the small side at 5lb 2oz, but is doing very good. They did have to put her in an oxygen tent right after birth. She was born full-term, but is just small. I guess that runs all through my wife's side of the family. My wife said that April only weighed 5lb 6oz when she was born. Now I have to get some sleep. I woke up yesterday at 5am for my delivery in Philly. Made the delivery, made 2 pickups in Jersey, then drove the load to Morgantown, WV (about 480 miles). I was just finishing doing my trailer drop in Morgantown and heading to our shop when my wife called and told me she was in labor, so I was there for the birth. I am very happy for you and your stepdaughter. May the years with your new grandaughter be most blessed. I am curious about something, though. If you stepdaughter was the one who was having the baby, then why did your WIFE go into labor!!

Hey Mal,
Congrats on the new Grandbaby. My oldest weighed 5lbs 2oz at birth too. He is now 6' 4" about 250 and will be 31 in September. My 2nd however weighed 8lbs 12 oz  he's only 6' 3" now. As for spoiling her, my grandaughter will be 4 in October, and everyone calls her Princess cuz she is one! Reb

Mal,
Glad all is well. Cool to be a grand pappy. 8) It was neat growing up with my grandparents close by. I taught my oldest to drive last year and she is already turning heads. Man I hate that. They just grow up too fast but nothing like having lil ones runnin around. You should be receiving your AARP crap in the mail any day now. See you in wrinkle city. |
