April 15th has a new meaning!!!

I'm pleased to announce a new member to our family: Avianna Shay Masters

This morning at 5:46am my step-daughter April gave birth to a beautiful baby girl. The baby is a little on the small side at 5lb 2oz, but is doing very good. They did have to put her in an oxygen tent right after birth. She was born full-term, but is just small. I guess that runs all through my wife's side of the family. My wife said that April only weighed 5lb 6oz when she was born.

Now I have to get some sleep. I woke up yesterday at 5am for my delivery in Philly. Made the delivery, made 2 pickups in Jersey, then drove the load to Morgantown, WV (about 480 miles). I was just finishing doing my trailer drop in Morgantown and heading to our shop when my wife called and told me she was in labor, so I was there for the birth.

Thanks all. Just spoke to the mother a few minutes ago and the baby is off the oxygen now. Now she gets to try out breast feeding. And, yes, this is my 1st grandbaby. I've already got her spoiled

Oh - and with all I've seen since last night - I am SOOOO glad that I'm not a woman

Edit:
I forgot to mention this, which I find funny.
Just before the true, full labor, the doctor and nurse were in the room getting her to push. You know, deep breath in, push, exhale, start over. Well, I was standing across the room (out of sight of the real action) but I was doing what the doc/nurse were saying. I almost passed out just from me doing the breathe, push, breathe. My wife threw me out before I did finally drop. I just couldn't help it.

I can hear that.

At least to a couple of women that have given birth and had kidney stones, have told me that kidney stones is almost as bad. Which I've had a few of.

Congrats again. Hope the father has come off the floor by now.

He did pretty good through it. When the doc really got started the daddy said he was going the waiting room. Doc didn't care for that. He said he was staying in the room. If he felt like he was going to pass out, doc said there's a chair with a good view - use it.
