I've heard that CAT scale and J-scales are limited to 100,000 lbs loads. So where do guys doing heavy, heavy haul get loads that gross more than 100,000 lbs weigh?
Just curious. I'm an 80,000 lb-er and don't plan on pulling any of that super-heavy stuff!

If the approaches to the scale are level, you can weigh one group of axles at a time and total the results.
It's done that way all the time around here at quarries where the scale platform is too short to fit a whole semi on it at once.

This question reminds me of an incident I witnessed at a TN scale several years ago.
Driver and escorts pull into the coop with a massive load. They start to pull behind the scale house, apparently to go in with their permits. Scale master comes racing outside and stopped them and made the truck cross the scales. Load was so heavy it broke the scales. That scale house was closed for about 3 weeks after that incident.
