Default I need a little help....from a "Boat Hauler".

No, I'm not changing jobs!! 8)

When I am looking for is some advice on who might be best at hauling a boat like this:

44 foot Gulfstar, 14'6" beam, displacement 30,000 pounds.

Also approximately what might it cost to move it from say Myrtle Beach, SC to Tampa, FL, and the approximate transit times.

Other questions might be: Who pays the lift charges on both ends?

Any info appreciated!! 8) 8)

You could try Boat Transport 800-792-1118

Looks like you finally found a trawler....congratulations. Good luck getting it transported. Too bad fuel is so expensive, it would have been a nice trip down the ICW and thru the keys.

Is this the 44 with the down galley? Those sundowners will taste quite nice sitting on that back deck 8)

It might be cheaper to hire a captain and have him sail it to ya.

Maybe....just maybe we have found one.... Right now, I think that if we do get it...the cost of overland transport for 600 miles can't be more than the cost of diesel for twice that distance....but then again... who knows?? If we did motor down with it....we have go by way of the Keys.... because the Lake Okeechobee channel is too shallow....the lake is basically empty.... bummer!!

Yes, this one is "galley down".....and the aft deck is huge... 8) 8) and yes, the "sundowners" will be "exquisite".....

Skywalker,

I'd be interested to know what the approx cost (per mile?) of hauling a 44' trawler would be if you end up going as far as getting a quote. For future reference only.

I talked to "Joule Yacht Transport" today..... the nice fellow there told me it would cost at least $7500.00 to move the boat...about 600 miles. Thats about $11 a mile. Looks like I'll be doing the ICW and seeing the Keys again if the deal goes down! I already figured the diesel is going to cost me about $2700.00 or so....and I won't have to tear the boat apart to load it. I need a vacation anyway 8)

Da-yum....I didn't think it would be THAT much!!

Hope the deal goes the way you want it to and a vacation is just what the doctor ordered....or did he order Mai Tai's dock side at the end of a days cruise south... 8)
