Hey all,

Do the Stock antenna's on the 780 Volvo have the same issues with SWR that a Freightliner does? if so what is the best mounting option to ensure the best reception and transmission?

Volvo stock antennas do multiple things:

1) CB Antenna

2) Am/FM radio antenna

3) TV antenna

the antennas are hooked to a transmitter box in the over head bin above the jump seat. Do not remove and put another brand antenna in there you will blow the system.


If you want to use a different ( I use Wilson 2000) antenna, go to cb stuff in truck stop there is a bar made for Volvos you can buy and install in one of the mirror mount screws to mount your antenna on.

 

go to the cb shop, ask for a birdperch...tell them you drive a volvo. it is a steel rod that screws into the mirror mount. take the screw out, screw in perch. the best place for yuo cb attenna by far.
