Maybe you need to move away from the border for a while so you can realize that the rest of America does not want this to happen. Besides, if Bush vetoes it there are more than enough votes to override it. Thank God.

75-23 Bi-Partisan vote to cut ALL funding. I don't think it could be any clearer than that. Majority of the people and the majority of the lawmakers.

Aside from the polling which you say is unreliable and false, what is to be said about the BI-PARTISAN vote to kill funding? 75-23 speaks pretty loudly to me that this isn't a one sided problem.

Clueless much? When the people being polled know NOTHING of the subject of the poll, how reliable is the poll in the first place....

I hate to post bad news for the doomsdayers. But cutting funding doesnt have to stop this program, it can still be privately funded. Right now trucks are STILL coming accross the border. Even without federal funding the law still stands, mexican trucks can come accross the border.

Sheepdancer is correct. The Supreme Court ruled in 1994, that that the NAFTA agreement obligates the USA to permit long-haul Mexican trucking throughout the country. The politicians can scream , holler and strut around like they are on the side of the working people of America, but it is all show, pure BS for the upcoming elections. They sold you and your families out to special interests and corporate America years ago.
The fault is of our making. No one spoke up when it mattered. And it is likely 75% of the crooked incumbent politicians running for re-election will be returned to office. We will only have ourselves to blame. Again. |
