That is a great video that I had thought about linking to also!!! Just about sums up what Walmart has done to this country.

Why am I not surprised that you would take that stance?
Maybe you need to move away from the border for a while so you can realize that the rest of America does not want this to happen.

Besides, if Bush vetoes it there are more than enough votes to override it. Thank God.

Sorry, the few people who bother to post on these topics in this forum and the few people who have nothing better to do than answer opinion polls aren't the "rest of America", no matter how much you've deluded yourself into believing that.

That's if congress even bothers to take another vote.

60% in indepenedent polls are against it.
75-23 Bi-Partisan vote to cut ALL funding.

I don't think it could be any clearer than that. Majority of the people and the majority of the lawmakers.

And again, it is the fear mongering from the redneck isolationist mentality that are creating the polls in the first place. Hoe many people taking these polls can describe ANY of the trucking issues? Hell most drivers don't even know half of the laws that govern them as drivers and the redneck mafia are now asking them to proclaim a difference in a topic they DO NOT UNDERSTAND in the least. Typical of the American Lemming, be afraid of things you cannot understand.

So without polling, how are supposed to gauge the sentiments of the public? Also, the polling company was an independent polling group.

Aside from the polling which you say is unreliable and false, what is to be said about the BI-PARTISAN vote to kill funding? 75-23 speaks pretty loudly to me that this isn't a one sided problem.

Clueless much? When the people being polled know NOTHING of the subject of the poll, how reliable is the poll in the first place....

Polls are the EASIEST thing to manipulate in order to get the result you want.

I hate to post bad news for the doomsdayers. But cutting funding doesnt have to stop this program, it can still be privately funded. Right now trucks are STILL coming accross the border. Even without federal funding the law still stands, mexican trucks can come accross the border.

Sheepdancer is correct. The Supreme Court ruled in 1994, that that the NAFTA agreement obligates the USA to permit long-haul Mexican trucking throughout the country. The politicians can scream , holler and strut around like they are on the side of the working people of America, but it is all show, pure BS for the upcoming elections. They sold you and your families out to special interests and corporate America years ago.
The fault is of our making. No one spoke up when it mattered.
And it is likely 75% of the crooked incumbent politicians running for re-election will be returned to office.
We will only have ourselves to blame. Again.
