It was the American people calling congress that stopped the Bush amnesty bill.
For the record, there is no such thing as the "bush amnesty" bill. The President doesnt create bills, Congress does. Writing your congressman isnt going to stop this bill. Congress passed this bill a long time ago during Clinton. Its been passed by congress, signed by Clinton and is now LAW.

With all the ignorance displayed in this forum on a daily basis it's not suprising people don't remember what they learned in their HS Civics class.

So welcome, my Spanish brother and sisters. Please file your apps here.....
Carrying goods between two points within any country is called cabotage.
It's illegal unless you are a US carrier. In fact, it's illegal in ALL countries, not just the US. Mexico, France, Canada, Russia.....all.
Illegal for trucks, ships and airplanes. And would take a bill passed by both houses to make it legal. And then the US would be the only country in the world where it is legal.

Betcha didn't know that, did you?

Bush wanted the bill, and initiated it via Kennedy / McCain, therefore I referred to it as the Bush amnesty bill. Bush wanted it more than anyone. I didn't say he wrote it.

Yes. Kennedy / Mc Cain agreed to implement it for their boss, the president, who asked them to do so. It is Bush's bill.

Here's an analogy for you. GM makes Chevy. Chevy makes Impala for GM. You can call the Impala GM's Impala and also call it Chevy's Impala.

Title of thread:

It will still be the same job it always was.

For less money, of course.
