Sorry, Ironeagle! You're original post kinda left out that one little detail about the FULL BOX of meat!

Sounded like your dad pulled a trailer with ONE briefcase in it! Still.... I'm surprised. Kraft foods can certainly afford the cost of sending it by courier. But, I guess it wasn't all that "time critical."

As for the last couple of suggestions..... No one would FAX or Email a SECRET recipe! Duke (the Bush Bean dog) could easily intercept it, and we all know he'd sell it to the Chinese!!!

Our warehouse manager's daughter's marriage turned sour, and I got dispatched to pick up all her crap at a mini storage place somewhere around Ocean Isle, NC as my "backhaul" off a trip that got cut in half.

I had a 10:00 PM appointment to meet his ex wife's husband at this place in the middle of nowhere. He showed up late, and then he couldn't figure out how to get inside the place to get to the damn storage unit. I don't remember why.

There was no room to park anywhere around there, nowhere to go at all, no strip malls or the like, no patch of gravel, no ramps, nothing. I wound up spending the night at a demo house for some new housing development a few miles away, and I didn't get into the place until 10:00 AM the next morning. Then I had to try to figure out how to cram all that crap into a trailer designed for hauling freight, not HHG. It was fun.

When I got back, I think the warehouse manager paid me $20 or something for 15 hours of my time. Golly gee.

Hauled a load of apples from VA, to WA.

Sat in the dock while the apples were unloaded, the box tops were removed and replaced with Washington Apple ones and reloaded onto the truck.

Then back to VA.

I rode with my father on this one I was 12 and on my summer trip. we picked up a load of Oranges out of Florida to go to CA. Get to CA he called in and was told he had a load back to FL what did we haul Oranges back all they did was rebox them. This crap happens more than we realize. Potatoes do not know what box they come from or care why should we they all come from the same ground.
