Laptop Advice

I was wondering if anyone had advice on where to put a laptop when not in truck?
Do you take your laptop when you get out of truck?

Any special addons for a laptop or cases that worked out for someone else?

we just leave it on the bed when we leave for longer than say 30min or more the rest of the time it sits in it's stand "we use it for gps routing" it stays in the stand most of the time.

I keep my laptop on a stand I made that sits at the foot of the bed. I have a small touchscreen monitor in the front of the truck that is mounted to the sun visor.
