Default Coffee Maker

Looking for info what would be a good coffee maker for in the truck. Was wondering if a regular 110 household coffee maker could be used with a power inverter.
Wife would like to have regular coffee and be able to make coffee whenever we want some.

thanks

I never found a good 12v coffee maker.

The 110v will require a large inverter to run. Many 110v need around 1200 watts or more.

Two alternatives is to get a 12v lunch box stove and heat your water in it and use the coffee singles.

The second is to use a 12v beverage heater to heat the water and the coffee singles. (Works a bit better than the lunch box stove). Just be sure to use a ceramic mug to heat the water.

I saw a little 750 watt one the other day... but isn't that still a lot to drain off a battery in a vehicle? (even if the vehicle is a truck)

If you think that's not too much, then let me know and I'll find a link for it...

I have a 1000 watt inverter with my solar, and my electric kettle is 1500 watts -- So, I make coffee over a candle... seriously.

And, it's good.

I picked up a Max Burton brand 12 volt 4 cup coffee maker at a TA about 3 weeks ago. So far so good.

Don't really know where they get the 4 cup idea as it just fills my pint insulated road cup. I suppose it makes 2 regular size type cups.

Takes about 23 minutes to make but it gets it hot unlike another brand I tried.

Then I discovered the WalMart carries Starbuck's coffees. If it wasn't for those blueberry scones I could avoid Starbuck's completely.

BTW, I recommend plugging it directly into the 12 volt outlet, I melted one of those 12 volt splitters with it.

I use the coffee singles heated in my microwave if the truckstop coffee doesn't taste decent. I usually only have one cup a day so the singles work well.

In the world of coffee makers a "cup" is 5 oz.

I use the Tracker 2 cup 12v, but like Uturn2001 said "In the world of coffee makers a "cup" is 5 oz." it fills my big cup and takes 15-20 minutes
