Boomtown truck stop closed

Default Boomtown truck stop closed

the boomtown truckstop is closed for good. I-80 ex 4 NV.
went by today and the sign said as of 061607 NO TRUCK PARKING the building is gone and thy are putting up a cabelas....! realy going to suck this winter Sparks, NV. is going to fill up fast

wow-that place was old when I started driving. Sat there often waiting for the Roads to open up.

I once lost 12 hands in a row of blackjack there. I should of stood up and walked after 4 or 5 but was a stubborn idiot and kept digging myself a deeper hole...the "boom" in Boomtown was the sound of my wallet exploding... :sad:

Sure is....you'd think with it being at the intesrsection if the I80 / I5 corredors, it would be a gleaming large volume TS like the Iowa80....but no. Go figure, there's a ton of E-W, N-S truck traffic to draw from.

Probably too late to expand given what's happened to real estate in this area.

Actually we used to have alot of good times sitting at the 49'r waiting for Donner to open up.
49'r used to have GREAT Breakfasts.
You ever go to the Golden Gate TS in Oakland-now THAT was a wicked and dangerous TS. I'm sure that has to be gone now eh?
