Lets have a good ol gripe and talk about sitting at a customers premises waiting to load. My mate Hog is sat in Chicago waiting for hours on end and it got me thinking....Whats the longest any of us have had to wait to load?
No Eastern European posters please coz I know you bastards will sit around for 3 weeks waiting for a load

Then when I finally get loaded I get to the reciever they go we do not want it till next week.

  I'm still sitting in the staging area. Haven't even got a call for a door yet. I know how this will work out. I've loaded here before. I will be able to roll right at the peak of rush hour....from NW Chicago. OH GOD...why me?
Anyway...I'll set the record...I'm sure no one can or ever will break. Even if they do...I'm certain they displayed far more grace than I did. It was my first year of driving. I wouldn't do it the same now as I did then. I'd check into a motel, and let my broker know...I need to be notified when I will get a door...because I am actively running up a detention bill as we speak. I left San Diego with a load of cucumbers and busted butt to make my scheduled delivery appointment in Detroit, Mi. to Grocery Alley off Fort St. and my dock was Ben Schwartz. They left me sit for going on 30-some hours. I stayed right there hoping to get a door. I started making colorful calls after 12 hours. I finally started wigging out in such a way...I'm sure they all were afraid of what I might start doing with those cucumbers. I got out of there after 35 hours. I broke a taillight bumping the dock. If any of you know that place...how many times can you eat at Motts? and not be able to form a solid turd for a week? How many street urchins and hookers do you run off before you start flashing a hunting knife at them and promise you will gut them like a fish...if they knock on your truck one more time? It's been 5 or 6 years since I was back to Ben Schwartz...(I've delivered to other vendors in that hell hole) and I was just there last Monday. I think someone there remembered me....and I got out of there in 5 hours this time. Maybe there was a poster of me on the bulletin board...I don't know.

I usually dont pick up back hauls, but I did a couple of weeks ago. I had to sit in Ft Worth for about 12 hours. May be a cake walk for others, but I was at a grocery warehouse that our drivers go to every week. I got there around 3:00 Wednesday morning. I went in, and signed in. I went back out, and slept. I woke up about 8:30. I thought it was strange that I hadnt heard a knock. Well, I went inside, and there was the clipboard, but my name, and stuff wasnt there. I noticed that this lady wasnt the same one I saw earlier. I told the lady what was up. She acted like I never came in there. She asked me what my appt time was. I told her, "5:00." She said that I need to sign in again, and someone will be out shortly. I called my supervisor, and he told me to sit. I did. Til about 3:00 that afternoon. I told that lady in there that our drivers come in once a week, and pick up a back haul. I am the one that takes it back to our warehouse in Lubbock. She just sat there. I said, "well this is bull crap." She just kinda had a blank look on her face. I was hotter than a $3.00 queer.
