Thanks for postcard Gar.. I stop there most times I'm enroute to the west coast on Hwy 80. Just came from there this morning too, as a matter of fact. I like the showers there. I reloaded in Salinas, CA., now going up to Syracuse, NY. Man  I needed that shower too. Yesterday afternoon it was 92 degrees Farenheit in Nebraska. Seems kinda early (april 29th) for heat like that...but the locals were not making anything of it...so I guess it was expected. Sure made it tough passing the cattle yards! .....GAD-ZOOKS. Anyway...the main building at Iowa 80 Truck Stop has three new rigs inside. There are several old antique trucks in there too. I took photos with my camera phone to send you...when I figure out how to download the images. This is my first camera phone...so I suppose I gotta read the manual. They say a picture says a thousand words...so I hope the manual is mostly pictures. I won't read any manual that tries to explain things with words. :P :?  :?

Now Wot, don't go thinking all American truck stop are like that! I have to admit, I have gotten spoiled in my limited time in trucking.
I recently did a run to Alberta Canada. I couldn't believe what they referred to as a truck stop. You might be able to park 6 to 8 trucks in their mud hole of a parking lot!

There's plenty of those tiny places they call "Truck stops". Some of them are almost impossible to get a truck through when the place is empty, let alone have trucks in them.
The Pilot is Roanoke, VA comes to mind.
