Only an idiot would try to do what they were doing, where they were doing it, and with the amount of men they were doing it with.
The piano is on a frame called a shoe. That, and the fact that they removed the legs looks to be the only thing they did right. Their biggest mistakes are in using a tailgate-should have used a ramp-and trying to be smart arses and get too close to the narrowest part of the path with the dinky truck. Cockneys though, so what else can you expect?

What do I see? Yes straps would be nice, but I also see the ass end is top heavy with no one at top keeping balance. If 1 of the 2 guys that were standing on the ground was up top they may have had a chance. If it was so heavy that they "needed" 2 people down below, they didn't have enough people loading it.

Over here, we call them "piano dollies", and they have hook points on them to attach straps.

Actually, it really isn't that top heavy. The heaviest side is down. The fact that it has no straps is what caused it to fall off the dolly. Once it started, there was no stopping it.

Even with 10 guys, it was still a failed operation. The piano is 9'8", and the liftgate isn't.

A shoe has its own straps on to secure a piano. You would then place the shoe onto bogeys and secure them. Unfortunately for Numpty and his friends, they forgot....
Oh well, they half managed it.

I'm glad that I found out how properly move a piano. That might come in handy someday? Maybe on earth 2?

No.... just when you give up the glory of OTR for the security of HHG!!

Then, you can quit being a Trucker, and become an "Advisor."
