Need advice... What will it be like to drive N.E. Regional all the time and get home on weekends . verses OTR that you get home every other weekend. Will there be unneeded stress driving the New England states, and what will be the worst states to drive in. Thanks for any info yous can provide...................

If you want to run North East as a company driver I would go with New Century or Jevic if you want to make a living. It's hard work (most all LTL with haz mat)but, you will make a ton more than you would doing truck load. Can make $75k a year without much effort.
The worst state to deal with is Ct. all the way around, everything there just plain sucks. The idling laws up here are no different then anywhere els in the country.Almost every state now has some sort of law on thier books ot's not just a "Yankee" thing as some flat landers would say. Rates to go North are most times pretty good but, the problem is leaving here. For some reason when people get the rate they should be paid to come here they beleive they should take freight for free when they leave and that's what makes the rates pitifull.(this is rant that falls on deaf ears over and over) I would think that if you want to run in certain part of the country you would be better off working for a company from there not some outfit from half the country away.I tried doing a regional thing years ago for Heartland Exp. in NH and Me. and they had no clue on how to run a truck up here and I ended up getting shafted by them.
