Yeah, a "private road" built as a result of "tax breaks" given by Bush to Quote "small businesses" or "big businesses" to "improve the economy, and provide MORE of those "so called" JOBS!!!

I'll bet my last dollar that the majority of the construction jobs go to illegal aliens, and before it's done, the American taxpayer will pay the bill.... and probably have to pay an additional "toll" to travel on it!

Not looking for a "fight" Yoopr!!! Don't even have all the "facts" [sic] about the proposal. And, like you say... may not happen. I just happen to KNOW this government/administration, and everytime I reach in my pocket, I find an empty moneyclip!!! And a note saying, "Gracias!"

Might you consider, Yoopr, that that "private" company might be a "wholly owned" subsidiary of Halliburton?? Or maybe of a Mexican company? The WHOLE road could be built by Mexicans and I guarantee that our government would spend OUR tax dollars to pay for it... subsidize it... whatever you want to CALL it!

What part of "outsourcing" do you NOT understand??? I just saw on the news that 46% of all jobs being "created" today require a college degree. That means we are becoming a society of "thinkers" and not "doers!" Does that not concern you??.... Given the propensity of our youth to "drop out" of school???

For the better part of our country's history, our economy was built on the Blue Collar man. (at least since the Industrial Revolution.) That man is NOW out of a job.... and out of prospects for a job!!

Nearly ALL "blue collar" jobs have been outsourced overseas... and many white collar ones as well! What IS and what WILL be left????

Can YOU answer that question for me, Yoopr????

I'll tell you what is left.... and it's the fastest growing sector of the Economy that Bush says is growing so great.... it's the "Service" Industry!!!

We have "boxed" ourselves into an economy based on one of the favorite sayings of the hardcore on this board...........

But, SOON we will be REQUIRED to say... "Quieras fritas con su ordre?"

No offense intended, Yoop! But you live way up there in WHITE America! Best I can tell, you no longer drive a truck OTR. You have little or NO idea what is happening to YOUR country "down here!" You WAVE the Flag, and tell the likes of ME how we should believe! But, you (like MOST in the RED states) are isolated. You don't SEE what is happening in this country!

When someone mentions a "border" issue, you think about the Canadian border! I NEVER even consider it! As a trucker, I'll probably never have to cross it... although I might want to. But, as one who travels the Southwest most of the time.... I can't even order a hamburger anymore if I can't ask for it in Spanish!!!!

Instead of "wrapping yourselves in the American Flag" and ABUSING us "Southern Democrats" who are actually ON THE FRONT LINES of this situation.... SOME of you might want to WAKE UP and smell the coffee... and at LEAST "load our rifles" as we face the onslaught of the illegal immigration forces who are now POISED to "take over" the southern half of this country! (And California.)

How many American PORTS are in that part of the country?? How many are NOT??? Keep it up and you will have to be "fed" through the tube of the Saint Lawrence just as you were in the days of our founding fathers! Good Luck with THAT!!!

Read your History. The Roman Empire fell because their troops were fighting wars in foreign lands while their seat of government was toppled! Same for the Greeks.. the French.... the Japanese....the Germans.... and many more!

We are supposed to be the New World... the "enlightened ones." But we are falling into the SAME traps as the great Empires of the Old World! Not ONE civilization in the history of the world has survived the strain of Empirical Ambition... with the "possible" exception of England.... and them ONLY because they had the good sense to "withdraw" before all was lost!
