Damn, the only other critter that will mess with a rattler like that is the roadrunner. Then again, roadrunners eat them not just chase them off, lol.

Those shrews are vicious thats for sure. Grew up in the woods of Virginia, and used to catch them a lot :lol: ..to my mother's great chagrin.

Couple years ago, we had a mole problem in our flower garden and moles are easily taken out with mousetraps and peanut butter (27 in a 3 month time, never had another problem). One morning, one of the traps was lodged in the entry way and actually moving, like something was trying to pull it down. I went to pick it up and there's a shrew hanging on to a half eaten mole and going berserk. This shrew was half the size of the mole and had already eaten half of it. Needless to say, I left him to his meal. When I checked at lunch time, only the head remained, firmly caught in the trap.

Well,I have to say,I'm not that brave. :shock: Holy cow! Man,that was a big rattler,too. First time that I have seen one climb a tree. :shock: Yeah,I've heard of jackrabbits fighting snakes,to protect the little ones,but that is the first time that I have seen it. Man. :shock: Good stuff,roadhog.
