Default Would appreciate your prayers

 Well Dad asked me to take him to the doctor this morning as he still hasn't been able to swallow very well. A few weeks ago we took him to an ears, nose, and throat doc who ran all sorts of test, did MRIs, catscans and x-rays. Well this morning the doc got the results of the tests and it looks like my dad has lung cancer. Mom is taking it well and so is Dad but I'm not and would appreciate your prayers and words of encouragement.

I'm sorry man, Best wishes to your Dad...

Is it curable? Is it too late? There is always hope...

Faith goes a long way. I'll keep you in mind in my prayers.

Cheers

My prayers are headed your way, Midnight Flyer!!

I know that I can safely speak for many here at CAD when I tell you that We will all pray that The Lord watches over your dad, your mom, you, and all of your loved ones.

Right now, I do wish that we had an emoticon for a praying smiley face, but just imagine one in your mind, and imagine it on all of the replies that you receive!!

Peace,
Useless

My thoughts and prayers are with you tonight.
No words of consolation can ease your pain at this time, but, knowing that friends, a great many friends on both sides of the ocean, are praying for your father and your family may hopefully give you some comfort.
Your father needs you to be strong right now and if you can find extra strength from these forums, then be assured, we are all here for you.
Kev

Thanks, guys. As I've always thought truck drivers and the people who hang out here on CAD are the best people in the world! 8)

Flyer:

You HAVE my prayers, if the Lord is still listening to me. But, that is MY problem.

Words of encouragement come easier. Let's start with the remarkable recovery/remission of WOT's dad! It CAN/DOES happen. Science has made HUGE strides only recently in the treatment/control of cancer. MANY people are still living today, YEARS after such a diagnosis, through the advances of medical science. Please, do not give up hope. Cooperate in ALL measures with the doctors.

Give thanks to God that it is only in his lungs, and NOT in his lymph nodes (hopefully.) Lungs can be removed, repaired or reconstructed (to some extent) or bypassed through machines. Lymphatic cancer spreads quickly and gets out of control.

Make sure the doctor is a "fighter." Do not accept a diagnosis of "no hope." There is always hope, and there are SOME doctors who are dedicated to fighting this with their whole being. You can thank God for THEM.

Nearly 40 years ago now, my brother (as an infant) was diagnosed with "nefritis" (I believe it was called.) A kidney disease that had no cure. There were only about 4 dialysis machines in the country at the time, and the waiting list was enormous. My father (a preacher/man of God) asked for and received the prayers of his congregation and friends, as there was no hope of getting my brother on one of those few machines.

He never made it to one of the machines. But, he is alive and well today! God answers the prayers of the faithful.

One of the most important Commandments in the Bible, is that we "profess" our faith. With your request... you have DONE so. God will not ignore that.

As you are obviously a "believer," you've surely heard the promise concerning faith "as a mustard seed." It is now your right and duty to CLAIM that faith, and EXPECT God's blessings!

Do not despair, as that is a sign of disbelief. But also, as Christ did on the cross, put your faith in God's plan for you and your Dad's lives. You can ASK for his mercy. But, you must be faithful in accepting His Will.

I have already prayed for both/all of you. But mostly, I pray that my words give you some comfort, hope AND strength! Be clear and strong of Heart, Mind and SOUL.

BTW, I know this is hard to deal with at this time, but I wish you all the best that you can receive at this Christmastime.

Hobo
