I want to share a bit more of myself with you, only in hopes it helps.
I say I can empathize with you, because I lost both my parents to cancer. My Mom most recently. She died 2 months ago, and it is very hard on me. I was caring for her for the last 6 years. It started with osteoporosis and heart trouble. The last year for me was difficult, and I had to stop Driving back in August to take care of her full-time. I hope you find the strength to always take care of them and yourself. It is tough. I bonded even closer with my Mom in these final years. I was there for her when she needed me most. Don't be afraid to be there for them, hold their hand and open your heart to them. Share some laughs and love. It's the little things in life now, that will mean the most. Hopefully, your Dad will beat this, for a time. Lots of love and laughter will make whatever happens, healthier for you both. Thanks for sharing this and allowing us to be such an important part of your life. regards Gary

Put his mind at ease that his life has touched others for the man he was. Brings back to many feelings for me, so spend your time with him wisely!

Well guys after the initial shock of yesterday (Monday, Dec. 18) I'm beginning to re-boot, so to speak. Our pastor and assistant pastor visited with Dad and I for over an hour yesterday and we now know that even though someone is diagnosed with cancer it's not an automatic death sentence. There are soooo many treatment options that can enable a cancer patient to live a long, productive life. Dad goes in for a biopsy tomorrow (Wednesday, Dec. 20) afternoon so we'll know more when we get the results of that. Dad fought during World War II in the pacific and being the tough old fart that he is he'll get through this. But I once again want to thank all of you here on CAD for your prayers and words of encouragement as they have been a tremendous help. You're all like family and I love every one of you!
