If i use the cassette adapter will i still have to change radio stations when traveling longer distances, or does that allow you to just run the same channel on the radio at all times. Also i have a cassette adapter that i used with my portable cd player i wonder if that would work the same or do i need one that is made for serius radios.

When using the cassette adapter the channels are not involved. It's just like putting a tape in. The cassette adapter you have should work fine. I wore one out and picked up another one for like $5 at Wal-mart. They're all basically the same nothing special or brand specific. You use it the same way you use your portable CD player through your car stereo, just plug the cassette adapter into the headphone jack on the satellite radio and it's done.
