Serius Satalite modulater
 

Hey guys I got a serius head unit and im Geting agrivated with the radio frequency changes. I have looked into the modulater kit that requires removing the radio from the truck. The problem is this is a company truck. Is it possible to remove the radio and easly install and uninstall this unit. Im driving the same truck on a regular basis. I just need to know if i can remove this thing within five minutes or so, if i need to. I dont know how my company would react to me installing something in the truck like that so i might have to remove it quickly if my truck goes into service and they place me in a new truck.

If your truck radio has a tape player use a common cassette adapter. I know what your saying about the FM modulator and constantly having to change stations while traveling, it's such a pain in the ass. You should be able to easily remove and reinstall the radio. If you have the owners manuals for the truck there may be some tools with the radio manual. The little tools I needed to remove the radio in my freightliner were tucked away inside the owners manual.

To tell you the truth if i would have known this was going to be such a pain in the ass i would'nt have spent 200 dollers on getting set up. You know you would think that when you spend that type of money on some technology their procuct would work a little better then that. It really suprises me that this thing ever took off. I mean man they gotta make it easyer then that. Oh well if it aint the c/b radio it's gotta be something right.

i had no problem installing the modulator in my pickup but getting thtdm radio out of a semi seem to be trouble some. keep trying

I use the cassette adaptor and it works great, you can also get a c/d adaptor if you have a c/d player, I couldnt get along without my sirius

It used to not be that way, the FCC made Sirius and XM tune down the receiver modulators so they would not interfere with other people's radio. I do think that the FCC should also regulate channels and turn a specific channel to a dead channel so only satellite radio modulators would work on that channel, like 88.3 or something you wouldn't have interference from FM radio stations.

my new siruis transmits on almost all frequencys 87and up
my older one only transmitts (88.89 .3.5 .7 .9) and 91.1 91.3
if you dont want the hassle of a modulator you can alsways try removing your cb antennas

I have not seen the cassette adapter yet i dont see how that would work but i guess its worth a try.

There is usually a headphone jack on the back of the receiver, well it's really on the back of the docking station. Just plug it in and put the cassette adapter in and it's a done deal. It the same concept as running a portable CD player through your vehicles stereo. :) :)
