If it were a Charter Bus...DOT would have 30+ witnesses against him.
If it were a Transit Bus...imagine the nightmare in paperwork. 3 illegals 1 absconding felon 2 questionables...possibly off their meds 1 with anger-management issues 2-couples in the back...obviously under the influence 1 overly eager to please etc.

Having ridden in both US-base and Mexican based bus carriers, I always admired the way that Mexican carriers operate. The longhaul buses in Mexico almost always run team drivers and have a small sleeper berth usually located between the cargo bay and the front axle, sometimes in the rear of the bus near the rest room.
![]() The sleeper on this Volvo is the one with the small window. The sleepers are fully air-conditioned and heated and have a 2 way intercom between the sleeper berth and driver's compartment. The teams run on a 6 on/6 off schedule. The teams are also generally assigned a bus that they're allowed to add personal touches to, like a customized shift knob and such or pictures of the wife and kids. I've never met a Mexican bus driver who wasn't a total professional and safe driver. It's kinda neat watching the communication between drivers going in the opposite direction, regardless of what company they work for. Always a wave and sometimes a flash of the headlamps. The high end lines have the 3 place seating and are really plush. Almost like business class aircraft. ![]() Beats the heck out of Greyhound that's for sure. Nearly all major bus carriers in Mexico govern their buses at 95 km/h (59 mph) and most have tachographs installed, either mechanical or electronic. Many also have those nifty central inflation systems for their tires.
