There's a nice little CB shop just to the south of it though AND it has a RIBS Place connected to it-yummy ones at that.

I was in Ontairo, CA and parked on the opposite side of the lot from the idle-air. Some gal came up to my truck and tried to sell it to me. their internet access is reasonable, but I look at the price of Idle-air and with the "pull-in, back-out" arrangement... NO! I will not use it. I told the girl in Ontario to KISS MY GRITS, and she was insulted. Funny, but I don't feel guilty about it.

I'm not knocking IdleAire. I just don't like their selling practices.

As far as their services, well:
I already pay $50 per month for my Sprint internet, so I don't need that
I don't have a tv in the truck, so I don't need the cable/satelite
I have an invertor so I don't need the shore power (would be a pain to unplug/replug everything anyway)

My company pays 50% of the cost of IdleAire. I used it one time. It cost me right around $9 for 10 hours of usage. It costs me nothing to idle the truck. So, tell me what the advantage is for a company driver to actually use it unless, of course, you're in a 'no-idle' area and the outside temps mandate using the heating/cooling.

Could it just be as simple that they need to sell the heck out of it just to pay for it. I suppose they think that everybody who pulls in is going to want to hook up to their stuff to watch tv and surf the net when sometimes all you want to to is eat and get some sleep.

Something I've just been informed of by a "safety director". If you have a pet in your truck, you can idle all you want, regardless what the regs say about it. HUMANE SOCIETY comes into it then. Looks like a "dog's life" is more valuable than a "HUMAN'S LIFE".
