I didn't know where to post this, so I figured here. I want to look into recovering abandoned trucks...does anyone know how to get into this or if you can make anything at this?

Every company that I know of simply sends a driver (employee) out to recover an abandoned truck. If for some reason that is not possible they will then contract with a tow company to get it and take it to the nearest terminal.

Personaly, after having done a few adandoned truck recoveries, I refuse to do any more and I sure would not want to do it for a living, especially if it meant driving the things.
Abandoned trucks tend to be filthy inside and out, are often way past due for maintence, very low on fuel, and has who knows what stashed on the inside. I picked up on a few years ago and upon getting into it found a case worth of empty beer bottles and enough trash to fill 10, 30 galllon trash bags. The worst part though was when I got it back to the terminal and the shop started cleaning it out. They found a bag of crack and 2 crack pipes. And to think. I had to cross an open scale on the way back. Thank God there was not any drug dogs or anything like that there that night.

My son had to go out & recover one last year.
Said it was not worth the extra money, lucky he was with a group, it took them nearly an hour just to clean it out just so he could drive it, and had to drive it with the windows open all the way because of the stench, and this was in the winter, and had an ice storm to boot.
