Doesn't, seem logical that peterbilt would stop production of their top selling truck?? What would they replace it with??

I just read on etrucker.com, that in 2007 the peterbilt 379 will end and be replaced by new model 389. And Kenworth T-600 will end as well replaced by model T-660. Should be interesting.

It may not be too much longer before congress makes fuel milage requirements for Class 8 trucks which may be next to impossible to achieve in the classically styled trucks like the W900, 379, etc.

Personally I like Volvo trucks. Quiet, easy to drive, easy access to the sleeper, great manueverability, and the frame design on the cab and sleeper makes it much more survivable in a crash or rollover than many other trucks on the market.

As long as companies start buying them.
I really hate anything not Kenworth of Peterbilt. You can see how miserable I am these days in my shitliner.

I once drove for a company that had 4 brand new Frieght shakers delivered and they tried to get me out of my old rickety piece of crap pete 377 that only rolls at 63 mph due to gearing. Damn truck is so old and wore out , noisy as all hell.
I couldnt do it. I went two days in the frieght shaker and had my heart sink each time I came home seeing the old nasty pete sitting idle collecting dust.
I told em screw that and got back in my old pete. Every day everyone I see asks me why I didnt want the new truck,
I tell them Id rather push this old pete than drive one of those turds,

Sorry Im stubborn and pig headed but my old Pete is still 10 times a better truck than a brand new frieghtshaker, No lies.

Don't like or care for 'new' or all this brand X stuff. I like old, they knew how to build trucks back then to last. I second everything jamesinge said, except mine is a 359. Have driven newer trucks for others, but would rather push mine. My hood is metal, not fiberglass. Someone's gonna have to go through a lot of truck to hurt me. I'm pig headed also.
