How do you guys keep the lot lizzards from beating your door down when you are trying to get a good night sleep? I can't find a solution..

The only solution I can offer is just ignore them. I know it's a pain in the ass to wake up to banging on your door but unless they identify themselves as law enforcement, or it's obviously another driver trying to tell you something about your truck (and you know the difference between a driver trying to get your attention and a lot lizard), keep the curtain closed and go back to sleep. The best way to keep them hanging around or coming back and knocking again is to wake up and engage them at all.

You can ignore them or get up and tell them to go away that you are not interested. Some are persistent. I have never had much of a problem with them. I try to stay away from places where they frequent. Most of the time you will hear drivers soliciting them or vice versa. They get some guy to allow them to solicit on his radio. If you let them know that you are not interested most of them don't bother you.

Back when I was on the road, I always parked on the front row, ALWAYS. If I had to park behind, I worked my way to the front when spots became available. Never got bothered, even when they roamed freely. I had men drivers tell me they put a bra hanging from the sun visor, but nowadays that might not work since I've heard they go 'both ways'. I'm home every night so don't have to worry about it anymore.

If you are having a major problem with lot lizards knocking on your door you might want to stay away those truck stops. There are some which seem to have a major infestation. I just stay away from them. I remember stopping at a mom and pop truck stop in New Jersey. I believe it was off I-295. It had a diner and hotel. There was some interesting conversation between truckers and lot lizards. I noticed that this one woman, or at least I think it was the same one, kept walking back and forth from the hotel to different trucks. Sometimes I saw men walking with her. I was never bothered, but it seemed obvious what was happening. The closest I came was when the woman walked over and checked my truck out. She had been on the CB talking to another driver. That was when I still had my Peterbilt. He had one, too, but was in a different location. She never knocked on the door. I believe it was one of her regulars. I think the people at the truck stop were involved. It was wide open. :P
