Yeah...I think the chicken on the appetizer menu section was courtesy of me. Couldn't tell exactly with all those feathers flying in the side-view mirror.

Whenever I'm parked for more than the 10 hour break, I look up various points of interest on my GPS and anything within two miles or so is fair game. Today I walked over the the Claim Jumper. A friend of mine introduced me to it several years back. We don't have any in Texas. They are know for their generous portions. I had the steak and lobster combo. It was delicious. A little pricey, though. But, hey, lobster in the middle of the desert should be pricey.

Rolling Hills Casino in corning, CA. I-5 exit 628. Good truck parking and DAMN good food. Get the quesadilla's... You might be thinking that they are just the normal ones, these are PACKED with chicken, bell peppers, cheese and come with various sauces.... 8 pieces fill me up and I'm a fatty...haha

I always enjoy the buffet at a Golden Corral when I have some extra time. I always see them when I am on a tight schedule or pass them at 2am. There is one in Frederick MD just around the corner from the Tamko Shingle factory, and there is one on US30 in (I think) Warsaw, OH that has a busses welcome sign out and doesn't run me off when I stop there.

Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

When there used to be HOWARD JOHNSONS in my area, I used to stop in for a meal that is definitely not for those who are on a diet.
They had a dish called "Loaded Skins"... It was deep fried potato skins, loaded with scrambled eggs, diced ham, and topped with an incredibley delicious cheese sauce. MMMMMMMM.... GOOOOOD.....
I was so disappointed when HOWARD JOHNSONS closed their restaurants.
Another favorite road side restaurant I enjoy is the LOBSTER POOL. A road side restaurant that offers no frills seafood. Fresh live lobster, with steamers, corn on the cob, cole slaw, and fries. Yummy... Oh, don't forget lots of melted butter....mmmmmm.... good!....
It is a great little place to sit outdoors (if you choose), at picnic tables, along the oceans edge, and eat your meal, while watching the sun set...
There is one more I can think of, a place with a uniquely designed building. A place called the CLAM BOX. They serve mile high plates of deep fried clams, and other fried seafood. One of the best fried seafood places I know... The building is constructed in the shape of a Clam Box. So, you can't miss the place should you drive by it....

We had a Howard Johnsons close by years ago but the fried clams they sold were only clam necks or "clam strips"! How can you enjoy fried clams without the bellies? The clam box?? The one in Ipswich, MA? Good clams, maybe the best around. McCrays in So. MA was good but they are closed now. Right now for the best stuffed lobster has to be the Venus DeMilo on Rt. 6 in Swansea, MA. Big enough parking lot for a truck and one of the favorites of Chef Emiril Lagasse. Lobster stuffed with lobster! Not cheap but it is FRESH lobster!
The best Mexican seafood restaurant I've stopped at is in Santa Fe, NM and is the Marisco's La Playa.

I had lobster the other night in my truck but I dropped some on the carpet and now I can't get those little white pieces to come out. How do you clean your truck after a lobster dinner?
