My mom's husband just died. He was a trucker, and my mom wants to find a job driving the vehicle that escorts wide load trucks. How can I look for such jobs? Please reply!

I would see if you could find someone who does that now and could show you/her the ropes. I imagine there may be a dispatching service in your area that handles finding escort vehicles for oversize loads and all you would have to do is sign up with them. You may try to search for trucking companies that haul oversize loads in your area and send them information directly.
Perhaps someone else on the forum who hauls oversize in your region can give you more information.

Most of those escorters are used for drivers toting mobile homes/oversize construction materials/heavy machinery. You may want to look into those industries for that type of job. Only thing is, I bet that it's not a full time job just escorting alone. I bet the guys that escort also do other construction stuff or actually assemble or help take off the items that are shipped. Is your mother capable of doing that type of thing as well?

There are escort service companies that work through brokers. One of the places you might start looking could be:

Also looking for information on escort/pilot vehicles positions... I know about the (in Oklahoma) classes, certification and insurance requirements, but can't seem to break the glass ceiling on finding out about available positions or anything about possible positions. Seems like a private club... can anyone help? I'll drive anywhere...in the US that is!
