They will get you a CDL, aka CDL Mill. If you want to learn how to drive a truck, than a PTDI School will be a better choice. We called the school "smith and Solo Mon".

Your wheel time, on the road will be about 2-3 hours..... TOTAL! Your yard time will depend on how big the class is. You may get four trys at the box (alley dock) a day.

The instructors are OK, they really have no say in how the school is run.

Job placement is a joke. You either sell your soul to JB, Swift, CR, Schneider. Thier idea of job placement is a Excel file with job listings from the News Paper.

You will learn some, but if you were to go to, lets say Schneider in the ADTC program, expect to fail and spend 14 days training again.

Not for nothing, but a company run school is a much better choice, or a PTDI School.

Hope this helps... I actually signed up to answer your question. IMO, It a fair assessment

thanks for the reply.......i would rather pay for a school on my own and not be locked in to a contract with a co.

the reason why i asked about S&S is that i spoke to superior carriers (tanker) and the TM was going to be there for a job fair....(which he was)

i heard windsors was a little better (re drive time)
superior (driving school..toms river..amboy..) heard was ok also
i dont' know of any PTDI schools in new jersey... ops:

i'll just have to do more "homework" on this...
thanks again
