Default Reclaiming Training Fees

I heard that in Ontario drivers can reclaim 50% of the cost of their tuition fees against their Canadian Tax return. Is this true as I can tfind anything official to supprt this. Where can I find out specifically if I can do this or no?

Is it also true that trucking companies wil reimburse the cost of 3rd party training whilst you are working for them? does anyone have first hand experience they can share?

thanks

Yes on both counts.

As a student you are allowed to deduct and claim certain not all expenses for schooling. And some companies will reimburse your tuition but at a cost. Each company has a different policy of how/if you will be reimbursed. Most pay around 100/month but you must stay with them a certain lenght of time or you will have to pay it back to them. Look at the companies websites to get more info.

Here in the US eveything seems to be more difficult than in Canada.
