Does anyone else have problems getting reception with the Sportster Replay? I have called Sirius and keep getting the run around so finally I told them to put my service on hold til someone can tell me how to fix all the static. We have the mushroom ant. and it still doesnt pickup a signal for more than a few minutes. Never had this problem with XM!! Please help!!! Thanks, Trudy (mtdewr)

Default radio problem

Ok are you using the FM modguator or is it a direct connect. If it is FM you need to try and get a direct connect. If it is direct connect tell sirus to send you the latest updates. this may help.

Happy Holidays

I don't care for the wireless mod. but,as far signal the Sirius seems much better than the X-M I had.Sounds like you may have a bad Ant.Try to use the small one that came with the unit, that's all I've got up by my cab lights.

I must need the direct connect wire. In a 99 Volvo, I could barely get ANY reception. I don't think there is a simple way to hook in to the FM radio. Do you have to get to the back of the radio to wire it in ? Or how do you connect the FM and Sirius radios ?

We have used both the Streamer and the Streamer GT with great results. They both get great reception. Our mushroon antenna is on the handrail on the back of the cab next to the stack on a T2000. As for the FM we use wireless. The only thing that I don't like is with the Streamer you only have a choice of 4 possible FM stations where with the Streamer GT you can tune in to any FM station.

if you have a cassette player or c/d player, use an adadtor for them and you will have no static at all, any adaptor for a portable player will work

You need to wire directly with a box that your mushroom antenna plugs into then you run a wire from the box to the antenna plugin on the back of your in dash radio. This will solve the static problem and you will have cd quality sound.

If wiring direct is not an option, you can go to sirius.com and put in your zip code where you are at and it will tell you what FM channel would be best to use in that zip code. But this is not very practical if you are on the move all day.
