Default New used truck Trans ?

I just bought a 2005 Peterbilt 387 with a C13 and a 9speed, seller told me it was a 10 and the pics didn't show the shifter.

Anyways, it is an RTX16709B and I am trying to understand if this can be converted to a 13 speed? Anyone have some details on the prospects.

TIA,
Steve

You should be able to convert your 9 to a 13.

it can be done. just be careful where you buy it, and if there is any type of guarantee with the sale for x amount of months or miles.

possible too, that any bracing may be needed, extra labor as well. i'd also recommend maybe replacing the rear main oil seal on the engine, if only there happens to be "seepage", which may lead to a full on drip/pouring out of engine oil.

i'd also spring for an "easy clutch" as well, especially if your current one makes your left leg tired after a few hours of driving.

My question was based on no information related to this particular 9 speed being convertible to a 13 with a simple field installed kit. This trans was supposed to have been new a couple years age with a new clutch, pedal pressure is not bad, it may have an easy clutch.

Should be convertible, the kit I believe is around $120 last I saw.
