All right gang -- need some advice. I'm looking to buy drive tires for my Freightliner FL70 straight truck. I know this isn't a class A truck, but I thought who better to turn to than the guys who will know the best. Every commercial tire dealer says the brand they sell is the best (of course!!). I'd say 50/50 local and otr use; 33k GVW. Would like something with an aggressive tread for snow situations. Any help/ recommendations you can give would be great. Thanks == Bob

I run the Michelin Caps on my truck and trailer and have never had any trouble with them. The trick to them is check your air pressure often. I have run virgins and caps and have got about the same mileage out of both of them. Caps are about half the cost of virgins.

I've had great results with Michelin on the Steers and Bridgestone on the Drives, pricey tires but you get what you pay for.
Chinese-Made Tires may be less expensive, but they don't last as long as the Name Brand ones. |
