In my owner-operator days from late 1990s to early 2K, I did intermodal hauling ocean cargo containers from Long Beach, CA to 11 western states. Normally, they go piggyback rail from the harbor to consignee, but some are time sensitive J-I-T loads that can't afford to have the train to stop at every rail terminal to load/unload containers. I use a hand sledge hammer to loosen the pins, tie a rubber bungee to hold the release back in place, spray WD-40 on the pins, then back up or move forward and tap on the trailer brake handle, and it immediately release all 4 pins. I never rock the trailer back & forth.
