That is because it is empty and Cali forces you to drive in "the sweet spot"

Since been to Salt Lake and half to Phoenix. At 6.3 since filters and average gross 77,200 (skateboard). I am happy with 6 or above. I know 6.84 was turned down company stuff, I know me getting that is slim. I'm realistic.

Well, that 6.84 by ECM probably was 6-6.2 at the pump. BTW, turning truck down, might reduce your fuel mileage. It's all depends who is driving.

As soon as I can get to somewhere to turn it up I will. This driver drives like egg under pedal. He didn't know I was watching him drive when 2 hours away and I was happy he was driving this way. I just happened to be where he was, lucky. I know power is increase in mpg if driver drives right. So far since fuel filter swap I'm happy with his mpg considering load weight and terrain.

Hand calculated 6.44 from Gallup NM to Salina KS. Was showing higher on dash but starting dropping when got to Kansas because crazy rain and wind. Hand calculations and dash almost mirror each other as long as he resets every fill up. He is pulling flatbed with load of onions that are right up to 80,000 gross. I am happy with this run. It goes seem lately though the few times he's filled at Flying J the mpg is cruddy while running that fuel.
