My Carrier APU is only 4 years old, but has rusted severely. I can't find any info on a new case for it. I talked to the local Carrier dealer a while back, and they want a fortune for a case like I already have. I saw an article about chrome and diamond plate models but don't want to buy a whole new APU. I recently hit an animal, no damage to the truck; it cleared the bumper and fuel tank, but the exhaust on the APU is a bit lower. Not only did it push the exhaust back a bit, but because the case is so rusted it twisted the heck out of it, almost ripped the APU open.

Has anyone taken their APU and mounted it inside another case, or toolbox? How did that work out?

for the life of me i cant remember where but there was a site that made just the cases. reasonable priced too.

I found a fiberglass case at the Carrier dealer in Fort Wayne, IN. Not only will it not rust out, it is much lighter too.
