Default Why are Kenworth steering stops so conservative?

Truck in question is a 2002 T800. I couldn't believe how much more room was available for steering, I could go more. The truck is a 236" WB and felt like it was about 290". Now it turns about the same as my Volvo did.

My Volvo was pretty damn good, because they put the pitmen arm on the inside of the steering box, and the frame also got narrower at the front of the truck.
