Default 05 century - fuel/water sep and air drain

i'm driving a co truck. 05 century. I'd like to maintain it but am not sure of a few things. couldn't find them out clearly in the manual.

Is the fuel/ water seperator the drain that looks like it's below the fuel filter? I think it is but it does not seem to stop draining. should i drain it for a few seconds and assume that gets rid of the water?

Do I need to drain the air tanks, i think it's done automaticall but I'm not sure. if so how? there doesn't seem to be a knob that can be turned.

Thanks,
newbie (of course)

Yes only a few seconds is what you need.

Air tanks really don't need to be drained on older trucks that much. They tend to drain themselves.

If you want to maintain your air system properly, change the air dryer every 2 years, 1 year in cold climates.

all air tanks need to be drained, unless they have auto drain valves. it's done to get rid of water and contaminants..... not just for the sake of draining the system

I too, had never seen much in my air tanks until, I had a compressor start making oil, on a very cold day the oil in the filter element wouldn't let the air pass and the "pop off" on the compressor would sound like a chainsaw under the hood  I got back to civilization with a 2" dia. hose in the stack putting exhaust heat to the filter element...

Another time, I got truckin up the road and had what seemed to be a governor problem, I dumped some A.B.A.F into the line and made it back to town, took a different truck to work, got back later that day asked the tech what was the problem... 3 qts. of water in the wet tank .... ops: Air dryer went bad...

So, the moral of the story is, draining your tanks is a good thing, even if you never see anything
