anyone have any maintanence history with the cat 3116. Looking at buying a box van with 85,000 miles on it. What should I be looking for with this engine?

I am trying to figure out the issues I am having with several cat engines in my Fleet, have spent several hours working on them all I can tell you is dont buy it, I am the lead tech and fleet manager for a small fleet and have spent most of my time here working on fuel issues with these cats, I am trying to convince the owner to get rid of them and buy something reliable.
