Volvo VN hood is made out of....
Fibreglass? Mine is starting to crack real bad, hackjob my company did fixing it. My dad thinks it's "different stuff" for some reason, and he's not sure he can fibreglass it.

I think, their hoods are made out of playdough or something. :P I've heard somewhere once that others have had Voovoo hoods cracking.

Yeah they're a bad design, plus the hood shocks wear out very fast. Every time you open it you put substantial pressure on the hinges. Right by the hinges is where everything meets up, and it's just not strong enough.
