Yea, you aren't gonna have every weekend off and expect to make over 60k.

yeah

I figure that a guy could make 1200/1300 a week going home every 6/7 for about 2

kentucky24 01-10-2009 03:12 PM

here's a question

If u restart your hours at a truckstop/ terminal away from home is their any play involved for that curious some do some don't

Some give
25.00
50.00
75.00

Walmart was
200.00 and hotel ( very seldom if ever happened though) and you had to work at least 2 days after reset to get it . (pay)
That prevented folks resering on yard and going home which believe it or not happened you also could not get reset pay at home terminal for u have option to go home

Jus wondering

For resets on the road you get the layover pay and if you are at a terminal can stay at the company hotel. How much money you get depends on when they get you out. Layover is break 15 hrs paid the next 8 then 10 break paid 8 until they get you running. Thats paid 9 hours at $13.30 for exactly 34 hours.

thanks I will definetly post back to all

The safety thing is a good thing and what I am used to a walmart . The companies you can have a good career at and low turn over require it. This is what I was looking for . I was at wm for 5 yrs ( story in earlier post) not used to running illegal ( I am no trucking cowboy)
Like to do this safe , correct & compliant ( DOT rules) I also think uniforms set a company aside also you as a driver are first contact and company represenitive good impressions are a must clean cut , clean drivers good equipment updated fleets help also.

The companies that have standards are the companies u want to call home I think superior will be one of the few companies a driver will be proud to call home

If you have never had any tanker experience then get ready to be a little intimidated when you grab your first few gears in a loaded trailer. Timing shifts, curves, turns and braking are all different in tankers. Always respect what you have behind you. Unloading is also something that needs to be taken very seriously. The pressure in the hoses can certainly kill you, and some of the products we haul are pretty nasty.

Stay safe and good luck
