Such ARROGANCE!! Where do you get off to making such threats here?? Also, when you compare the reputation of JB Hunt against that of a highly respected company like CFI or Melton, it becomes downright foolish to make such an asinine threat as that!!

Not to say that JB is necessarily a bad company, I don't think that it is!! (although I was unaware of the fact that your trucks have doors on the right side untill one day when I saw one parked!!) It's just that when one of their recruiters would come knocking on my door at a truck stop, I would have to explain that we had a number of ex-JB drivers leave JB Hunt to come to work for our company, but we did not have many drivers leave our company to go to work for JB Hunt!!

Wonder why that was?? :wink:

I have no problem with CFI, Just like any company, I talk to drivers who hate working there and drivers who love working there. I was just pointing out that Piece of Work was a recruiter posing as a driver. I said that sort of tactic was an Insult to the drivers intelligence.
If you dont see that hes a recruiter posing as a driver, perhaps the term "insult to your intelligence" wouldnt quite fit with you.

Man...what was I thinking? Taking up for drivers on a message board! I guess I should have remembered my "recruiters oath" which states when I see another recruiter lying to drivers, I should encourage him and even help him lie". My bad....it wont happen again.

You have not offered one single fact to support your claim. For someone who talks about someone else insulting a driver's intelligence, all you have offered are insults to the intelligence of anyone who happpens to disagree with you, meaningless threats, and empty accusations.

Upon what basis have you concluded that Piece of Work is a recruiter??? You have offered nothing in the way of fact or evidence which can be substantiated or challenged to support your allegation.

Now, if he is in fact a recruiter posing as a driver, and you could have established some type of proof to that effect based upon some type of factual evidence to support your claim, then at that point, I would have agreed that his conduct was indeed unethical.

Many companies offer drivers bonuses for bringing new drivers to their company. Now, given the number of posts that he made, and the number of times that he promoted CFI, I don't think that there is too much doubt that he was trying to drum up a few referrals. That may not rest well with you, but you use this board for the same purpose, so I think that it is rather disingenuous to take him to task for wanting to gain referrals here.

You certainly had no right to issue threats by telling him that he risked "starting and LOSING a war". Your arrogant statement about how you would "let him slide" implied that you had some type of control over whether or not his postings would be tolerated. You are not a moderator; you have no such authority.

To tell you the truth, I was starting to think the same thing as sheepdancer.
That's why I said thank you under his post. I'm new to all this and could be just as wrong as sheepdancer or anyone else that thinks otherwise ( ie. truck driver or recruiter ).

That being said ... if he is not a recruiter ... I'm sorry ... if he is I hold my thank you. tho the wording was a bit strong by sheepdancer I understand where he was coming from. Yes ... he's not a Mod and should have let a mod take care of it, but we all make mistakes.... Can't we all just be friends :D

On the index page i see a list of the moderator's names on it but i dont see sheepdancer and i don't see useless on there . So i think you all should leave it up to them. I feel like im in a truck stop with cb on with all the cb rambo's talking all their crap. I think all recruiter should identify their selfs as recruiters. just my 2 cents.

You have not seen me attempt to act as a moderator. You HAVE seen me take issue with Sheepdancer, and what I consider to be inappropriate behavior in making allegations which are not supported by fact or evidence. I will take issue with someone who makes an unwarranted threat as Sheepdancer did, and I will do it with no apologies to offer.

If Sheepdancer has reason to suspect that "Piece Of Work" is a poser, then he certainly has the right to say so, but with the understanding that he is rendering a personal opinion. Making a threat of "starting a war" was, in my opinion, completely wrong.

Now, I disagree with your assessment of equating this discussion with the trash talk on a CB; no vulgarity has been used, and no threats have been made by anyone, other than the threat that Sheepdancer made to P.O.W.. One purpose that this board does serve is the airing of civil discourse, and this is an example of people voicing disagreements. If you really equate this discourse with the kind of C.B. trash talk that goes on in truck stop parking lots, then you always have the option of reading other forums, or other threads, or, as in the analogy that you offered, turningb the C.B. off!!!

Now, if I made a threat against you, or attempted to imply that I would let your "crap" slide, then I would be acting improperly. BTW, referencing your remarks as "crap" was to illustrate Sheepdancer's inappropriate conduct in labeling "P.O.W.'s posting as "CFI crap". I'm not saying that your post was crap, but if I did, I think that you would have every right to express your indignation.
