Default J.B. Hunt

I filed for a job with jb hunt throuigh an outside recruiter was told as long as i hadn't did drugs in 3 to 5 years i was ok . I went to orientation answered the medical form question as to have i ever did drugs . I said yes. as the recruiter said i could put over 3 years but i hadnt did drugs since 1994. i was called into the office of albert campbell he said he's sending me home. i asked why he said because of my drug use history. and that i put over 3 year. i repeated to him that i put over 3 years because my outside recruiter told me thats all they required, and actually i had not done drugs since 1994. He still sent me home, made me sit for two days with nothing to eat saying that they were trying to get me a bus ticket. He refused to allow me tto take they drug test saying he is trying to save my DAC . when i pointed out my DAC would not be blemished because its been over 18 years he said i could reapply in a year. I reported this to EEOC has anybody else went through this at JB HUNT ? It is an illegal practice . JB HUNT is on a WITCH HUNT due to two of thier drivers were in accidents and they found cocaine in they system. BEWARE TO ALL APPLICANTS OF JB HUNT IF YOU DID DRUGS IN YOUR LIFE THEY MIGHT DO YOU LIKE THEY DID ME. ASK THEM WHY THEY REFUSED TO LET A DRIVER TAKE THE DRUG TEST . Mr Albert Campbell will deny your application on pretense that he is looking out for your best interest. All that is concerned he said it goes back 10 years i researched this it is a lie. Research HAIR FOLLICLE HAIR TESTING TIME AND YOU WILL SHOCKINGLY DISCOVER THE TRUTH

I AM OBTAINING AN ATTORNEY IS THIER ANYBODY ELSE THAT RECENTLY WENT THROUGH THIS IF SO SEEK COUNSEL ON THIS PRACTICE OF JB HUNT.

NOTE: VICKY SARGENT SAID THEY DONT CARE HOW LONG IT HAS BEEN YOU WILL AUTOMATICALLY GET DENIED. (DISCRIMINATION) ????

Let me get this right.

You did drugs. And now, companies won't hire you.

Are you really surprised by that? Want to know why?

It's about insurance rates. It's about cash. Most importantly, you are, or were, a junkie. And where this might have been forgivable in the past, it's not today.

Best advice? Don't report being a junkie. If you're clean, you won't have a problem. If not, you don't belong in a rig anyways. Sooner or later, DOT will catch up with you, and suspend your CDL.

One last thing. I have a history with JB Hunt. Just ask anyone.

these days, companies don’t want to hire someone who did drugs… they want to play safe, and they seem to be right on their part. They are concerned about their insurance and cash, and that’s quite understandable. And I agree with Cluggy619 and Mr. Smith.. you would be better off without letting them know that you did drugs… all the best.

This is probably the worst advice I've seen in a bit around here. If your not upfront and honest with them and then they find out you lied.......your fired on the spot if you were already hired on. At that point your DAC is history once they get done putting in the info of drugs and how you lied to them about it. You will be untouchable by any carrier that checks your DAC.

I have a question about this though... if there is no record of one using, then how would an employer find out, especially after so much time had passed that even a hair sample would show nothing? From someone else? That is hearsay and if a carrier fires someone after hiring them, based on hearsay, then a cause of action is justified. I would support not admitting anything unless there was a record of some sort. Either to an employer or anyone else.

And I dearly love those holier than thou that would call someone who used before a junkie. He didn't say he was addicted and went to rehab or something like that. I was a product of the 60's and early 70's. A heck of a lot of folks experimented one way or another with drugs. It didn't make them junkies. Lots of people make mistakes. If doing some illegal substance makes one a junkie, then those who have a beer are skid row drunks.

Since you last used drugs in 1994, the answer to their question of have you ever used drugs should have been NO. It was 18 years ago. If you're clean now, drug test clean, have a clean criminal record, clean driving record and no record of you ever using drugs then they're not going to have a reason to look back on you 18 years ago. Hell you only have to list employers from the last 10 years when you apply to most truck companies. Just scratch JB off the list and look for another company and when they ask if you ever took drugs, you simply say no. What they're looking for is if you've ever been in trouble with the law for any drug offense. Again, no record, no current problems, next company just say no because what happened 18 years ago isn't relevant now.

My experience with them this summer during orientation was similar. They are maggots. I have had a drop foot during past 10 years-nerve damage on right foot so it doesn't lift up. I have been getting through physicals with many companies and doctors in past 10 years, where it is noticed but ultimately found to be no hindrance to my driving, climbing etc. Everyone has been reasonable except for JBHunt.
I had just gone through the road test so it had gone great. But that morning couldn't stand on one leg-I have gained weight too- to their satisfaction. It had nothing to do with anything but they pretended they wanted my neurologist to vouch to my ability. Of course I didn't bother as soon as I got home and went to same clinic that Schneider had sent me to before and got another medical card with a thorough physical and got another job right away.
But the way they treated me, where i needed a bus ticket home and every one in their office would say -oh that guy is supposed to get the ticket for you- till nobody got it. I just bought the ticket myself- it was no big deal to me financially-
Just the fact that every one acted like they owed me a ticket but in reality no one was about to get me one. It left a bad taste and I wasn't about to make it ugly. What a bunch of clowns looking back at this.

on the flip side, I thought they were good during orientation years ago. I doubt they have changed that much. Always get good miles, new truck when the time comes, good safety program, easy drop and hook, for the most part, and hometime when it was asked for. I had no problems with them. If you are worth hiring, they keep you around.....just say'n
