I can afford to spend it, that's not the point.

Then what is the point? Whats a Hazmat good for 2 years? Your quitting the best job in trucking for $65 a year endorsement? I spend more a year for my work boots.

Hazmat is good for 5 years, both TSA and state. TSA has changed their time lines though, now the TSA must be renewed every time your license is about to expire. Cost is $94.00 for TSA background and prints and then whatever your particular state charges. If you add a doubles and a tanker endorsement you must retake the entire CDL test again. You need to do the TSA background 30-60 days prior to the expiration of your license, otherwise the state will not release the hazmat endorsement, without clearance from TSA.

You have to start somewhere right? Just take it slow and keep your license clean. Once you get a year in alot more doors start opening. Good luck
