I know it's an old thread, but I worked for K&B a little over a year a while back. I had an alright experience there. The log department and I had our moments, but we both got over it and life moved on. When I was there, I never had a problem keeping the truck moving, and they were pretty good to get me in a shop if the truck ever gave me problems. One or two of the executives could be ****** bags, but, that's just about the case with any company you can work for. You do pay for any damage that happens to the truck that you incur, but, the way the deal was put to me in orientation, that if you pay for it(and it's under $1,200, as that is the deductible for insurance), it isn't supposed to go on your DAC. Not sure if they follow through on that one, I've not had my DAC pulled since I've been with K&B. I got my last check in the mail pretty well when I should have. The money isn't all that good, but it's not the worst they have to offer in the industry. They have that whole garuntee system, but I think I really only got under 2500 miles in a week there a time or 2. The garuntee doesn't apply on weeks when you take time off. They always got me home when I asked to be home, but when working over the road, I always stayed out 5 to 6 weeks, and took 4 days off, so I've not found a company that wasn't willing to work with me with that schedule. I got on with their southeastern Pilgrims Pride dedicated fleet and worked it for about 4 months before I jumped ship to be where I am now, and the Pilgrims Pride dedicated fleet was a pretty good job to have. It was a daily salary of 170 dollars a day Monday through Friday. I worked my 14 hours and went to sleep. I averaged 3 days at home through the week and was off on the weekends, averaged grossing 850 a week for 5 days of easy enough work. Basically, it wasn't a place to get rich driving, but wasn't a horrible job in my experience.
