Anyone work for them or know anything about them (good or bad)?
I searched quite a bit but could find minimal information. Basically, the info I have is...they want and are in need of hazmat drivers and pay 4cpm extra for hazmat loads. Drivers around here (Chicago) are averaging 10k miles/month. Is that reasonably accurate now? What kind of trucks? What kind of transmissions (manual 10s, auto 10s, both)? They say 10-14 days out, etc....and that they are pretty flexible. What is the hometime really like? One kind of bad thing is this...I would have to drive to Janesville, WI (about 100 miles) if the last load is a $high load due recent theft because of the economy. I guess they have a terminal there. Otherwise, I could find somewhere to park the tractor-trailer close to here. I'm not sure how that would work because I wouldn't get that final load and know until my personal vehicle was already there (or not there). Do they have a refresher course or something similar? They know I have been out of work for about a year...but they still seem interested in me. I have a clean record, 1.5 yrs experience doing van otr (and hazmat and a passport on the way). They are one of the very few companies that seem interested in hiring me right now. About half say the gap of about a year off is too big right now and they don't offer anything as a refresher. The other half says no issue with employment record, driving record, etc...but they are not hiring in my area due to freight levels in this area. Schneider is the other interested party...but working for them 320 days/year (45 days off) for 300 miles a day doesn't seem like a lucrative job. I am supposed to hear from them (TA) soon. I was wondering what the driver grapevine says. Thanks much!

One of our drivers used to work out of Janesville for them. He said it was the worst place he ever worked. I think he lasted 3 weeks. He also said his DM liked to scream and hang up on him alot. I see their yard in Janesville has alot of trucks and open top trailers in it, Although I believe those trailers had roofs at one time.

No miles and all kinds of charge backs.. i wouldnt waste your time. ------ The questions to ask when they tell you no miles are. Do you refuse to goto xxxx pick any city state that is a drag Boston NYC etc. Charge backs are simple here IF your log dont match toll scale tick etc they take back the money like most carriers do. Do they make mistakes? yep but easy as a phone call to get it back.
They are hanging on by a thread. They are leveraged to the max---- dont know where you get your info but we are still turning a profit every month but I think Jan or Feb we were in the red but quickly made back the losses. I believe those trailers had roofs at one time.----- That is true we have had some tards cant make excusses for that. I myself is doing good still I have been here going into my 3rd year. I had a thread going I will have to update it, Been busy with everything else and slacking on the thread.

you sure it's not for better fuel economy? maybe they wanna go the aerodynamic way, or with some weight reduction.

Just the ones that shouldn't be in the business in the first place.
