I am scheduled to start orientation at Cypress Truck Lines out of Jacksonville, FL on the 29th of this month. Is there anyone that could give me the ups and downs about this company? I searched it and found one disgruntled driver from May 2007.
Thanks.

If you like driving junk that is the place for you. I have seen some of their trucks that I wouldn't drive across the street.

Freightliner stopped making the FLD series in 2003 when the first wave of emission engines hit the market and the Century Class/Columbia replaced it. Supposedly the Coronado is replacing the Classic XL and the Cascadia is replacing the Century Class/Columbia. I do know Gully Transportation out of Quincy, Illinois are running FLD glider kits until 2015 or something like that but I seen a couple 386's that Gully introduced into the fleet.

Yeah, Cypress has some of if not the worst equipment out there. I would be wary of whether their maintenance is worth a flip. I've seen some nasty trash haulers driven by Mexicans that looked much better than all of the Cypress trucks I've seen. If they were the last company on earth I'd still avoid them. No reason for those trucks to look THAT bad.

I had a friend just quit there last week he only made it 3 or 4 months, the truck was junk TOP SPEED was 62, over worked for what they pay he was only getting $550.00 per week and they nickel & dime you and dont pay for things they should when pulling a flat bed. Good Luck though you might get a truck that is not that bad.
