melton truck lines

They pulled my buddy in a month or so ago. Told him we need to discuss 3 things.
1) we need you to stay out 3-4 weeks at a time (was told if you come back you can be home every weekend) 2) we need to cut your pay ( he was offered upwards of .45 cpm safety and other bonuses included to come back to work for them a year ago.) 3) We need to swap your truck. (They gave him a million mile award drivers truck, very very very nice) and give you a company truck. He walked.

Promised 2000 to 2500 miles=more like 1000. Alot of layover and a strict fuel policy makes it imposible to make your bonus.
And dont expect to get home when you want. I put in 3 weeks notice for my dad's 65th birthday,(something that only comes once in a lifetime) and guess what? They wanted me to sit over a 3 day weekend, unloaded in TN with no garantee they would even get me a load to FL after labor day weekend. I quit for that reason. They talk a good game that they care about driver's home time but it's not true. In fact they never got me home on time and when a special event came around they said to me "we cant control the freight, and you know we cant get you home right now".=bye bye Melton. I have been in the business for 10 years so dont think i'm a newbee that doesnt know how to manage a route and meke money for the company.. Melton is overextended and cant keep you busy. Dont do it.
