Yea,,makes things so hard to keep up with it when he is taking off like 30 fuel stops at a time. And its not like they display your fuel stops on the qualcomm, gotta sift through the packet and make the updates to it almost every week.Im glad I made the transition out of the company when I did, marten afforded me to buy alot of things, but I outgrew the company and its direction,I wish you the best in your move wildK9 and I can almost assure you that you wont regret it.
It could be worse I suppose. Some companies make you absolutely fuel at terminals, certain stops and only put on certain gallons and you must follow it to a T. For the most part we can do whatever we want as long as it's on the fuel list. 8) 8)
Ive had the new fuel book since I started

It consist of mainly Pilots and very few T/A 's ....and Loves on rare occasion

I did completely forget to fuel the reefer once and ended up in the desert at a Loves and got barked at by the head of the fuel dept when I had to call in for approval....

In the 4 weeks I have been here

my average miles per week is 2275.

Does this sound about right to you guys ?

I can defiantly say its far better than my previous driving job.

2500 a week would be sweet but i dont want to piss off dispatch

and have them throw a mileage hex or something on me....figure I'll

lay low for a while and maybe they will notice that my hours permit me to

run much more miles than what they are giving me.

That's crap for a reefer company. 2275 mpw = 325 miles per day average. Who's your dispatcher? Forrest Gump?

If you say so.

You should be averaging over 3,000 mpw with a reefer on your back. Granted, with the new HOS it's a bit harder to do now but still...

If you stay quiet and put up with 2275 mpw, than that's all your gonna get. Me? I'd be on the phone everyday demanding they run me. The squeaky wheel gets the most grease.

You should definitely be able to get more miles than that. Is there any home time during that period ? 2500 should be the low end over here. They are supposed to run everybody at least 10,000 miles a month. Get with your fleet manager and see what they can do to improve your mileage. 8) 8)

Oh thats old news, i heard this same thing over a year and half ago in Ontario,, in fact Randy was there for a race, and had some cute young thing hanging all over him, yet know one was friendly enough to find out to ask how they hooked up.

4 weeks. Your dispatcher could 'checking' you out to make sure you can handle the miles they give you.
Rule #1 Stand up for yourself. Tell them you need the miles . If your dispatcher cares how much he makes off your miles, then they will get out of the bar across the street and get you some miles. If they ignor you, go to thier team lead, so on and so .And yes, you can fire them anytime. I have. Working on my 3rd desk jocky now .lol

Mostly curiosity on my part but it looks like you were able to get some great info out to some of their company drivers. Sad to see all of this happening. I had never heard much about Marten (that's a good thing) but it seems that they are carving a nice place out for themselves along with the other Kool-Aid carriers. Only in the trucking industry. Unbelievable!
