Default MAT

This company is based in Los Angeles. Has anyone heard of them?

I got hired today after taking a two-hour road test: trained on an 8-speed, wasn't prepared for the 10-speed they had me drive. I ended up grinding about three-quarters of my shifts. Nevertheless, they hired me for a local position on ocean container for freight out of the port (the company thought my backing skills were good)...go figure :?

My second question is: where are the shift points for an old Mack Pinnacle day-cab?

Thanks for the link.

I've been working there for three days now. It's good to know that this company gives its drivers options:

Vehicle inspection/pre-trip: optional;
Placarding HAZMAT cargo: optional (and discouraged);
Keeping a logbook: optional;
Recording deliveries: optional;
Speaking English: optional;
Balding tires: no problem;
Driving with landing gear down: 5% salary increase.

Even Swift has higher standards... :P The supervisor doesn't care about compliance--it's all about productivity. Federico, my co-driver, was driving the same unit I drove today. The driver's side door has a loose locking mechanism and sometimes flies open. Federico forgot to make the standard "adjustment," and so his door flew open about five minutes after getting on the highway.

But the work is local, the pay is reasonable, and yo hablo español, so it's all good.
